I don’t know about you guys, but this year already feels different. Time is moving at an accelerated rate because the end of the world is near. Think about an hourglass with a lot of sand particles at the top. The sand particles have a hard time getting through the small opening because there are a lot of sand particles fighting for the opening, but when the amount of sand particles at the top decreases, then the last few particles race through the opening very fast because there is not a lot of competition.
This is the case with time. The Godhead, consisting of God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit, live eternity where there is no time. When earth was created, God confined earth within time and space. Therefore, when the world ends, then time will end.
Romans 9:28 (NKJV) explains how time will end.
“For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, Because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth.” Romans 9:28 NKJV
To ‘cut it short’ means to execute or finish quickly.
Why does the Lord plan on finishing His work on earth quickly?
Because the world is getting worse and more corrupt. The Bible says that the god of this world is Satan, and Satan does not like Jesus Christ nor His people. Everything in this world including the music, movies, fashions, laws and societal norms is contrary to the Bible. Therefore, as the world comes to a culmination, God’s people will be hated and persecuted. Matthew 24 gives a discourse of the end of the age and verses 21 and 22 explain why God decides to cut time short.
“For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” Matthew 24:21-22 NKJV
It said it is for the elect’s sake that God will end the world quickly. So, as the elect, we have an allotted time to complete the purpose and mission God placed on each one of our lives.
What are the things on your heart that God has desired for you to accomplish? What have you delayed in achieving?
No more procrastination. No more delay. It is time to execute!
The best way to execute is to write a plan.
1. First, take some time to pray and ask the Lord to place His goals for your life on your heart.
2. Then, map out the steps needed to accomplish those goals.
3. Set realistic deadlines to achieve these goals.
4. Lastly, diligently execute the plan.
