Voices

In my previous blog, we talked about words and how they shape our outlook on life and impact how we perceive ourselves. Now I want to talk about the voices behind those words and have you examine whose voice you are paying attention to.

We know that words from people can be inspired by God, and ultimately, it is the voice of God speaking to you through people that He has sent.  These words can come from your friends, parents, and those that you look to for advice.  The Bible says the word of God is a lamp to our feet and light to our paths. His words come to uplift, edify, direct, instruct, and correct.   When the Lord speaks to us, it is always for our good.

However, we know that the devil, the enemy of Jesus and His people, also has a voice and uses others to speak things to you that will negatively affect your life.  The Bible states that the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy.  And the words that come from him bring confusion, tears-down and brings in depression and oppression, and causes you to feel hopeless.

By nature our ears are not attuned to hear God’s voice, and so often we walk through life listening to the devil who leads us into sin and down a path that is in direct opposition of what God has desired for us.  This is why the Bible tells us that we have to be born again.  And to be born again we must open our hearts to Jesus Christ and welcome Him into our lives and accept that He has laid down His life as the Son of God and paid the price for our sin so that we can have access to eternal life.

So now I want you to pause and take second to ask yourself whose voice has been directing and influencing your life, God’s voice or the devil’s voice?  If you come to the conclusion that you have been influenced by the devil, and you no longer wish to follow after him and live an unfulfilled life, today I offer to you salvation and an abundant life in Christ Jesus.  With a sincere heart say the follow prayer asking God to forgive you and to come into your life.

“"Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life."

After you say these words, believe God and trust that He is with you.  I promise to you that your life will never be the same again.  I admonish you to find peers that believe in Jesus Christ and want to live a life that is pleasing to Him.  Also, please reach out to us and we can help you on your journey with the Lord.  God bless!
